Cookware Made of Stainless Steel: Stainless steel is fantastic for boiling purpose such as boiling potatoes, rice, and pasta or for browning and sautéing foods. These cookware have the ability to tolerate high heats. The only disadvantage is that your food can burn if the heat becomes too high or the pan gets too dry. It is easier to clean.
Cookware Made of Aluminum:Aluminum cookware doesn’t emit toxic partices at high heat but there are various concerns about using this material. It is assumed that aluminum can leach into the food and cause health issues. It is recommended that we should not use these cookware when preparing meals that contain acidic or alkaline ingredients. It works best when boiling water, sauteeing vegetables and searing meat without any acid-based liquid.
Cookware Made of Stoneware & Ceramics:Stoneware and ceramics are good casserole dishes but there are some cookwares that contain toxic material. The Contra Costa (CA) Health Services warns from buying and using traditional glazed terra cotta (clay) dishware from Mexico and Latin American countries. The Department of the Environment in Australia also warns against the use of the highly decorated traditional dishes that are made in Asian countries.
Cookware Made of Glass: Glass is a widely used cookware because it is nonreactive, quite cheap and can go from the oven to the table.
